Q: When are the George City Council meetings? Can I attend?

A: City Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at George Community Hall. Meetings are open to the public.

Q: When is garbage pickup?

A: The garbage truck comes every Monday morning. It is best to put out your trash can out Sunday night.

Q: Can I burn trash in my own yard?

A: No. Burning trash is not allowed in the City of George.

Q: Do I need an animal license?

A: Animal Licenses are required. $4.00 for spayed and neutered animals, $10.00 if not spayed/neutered *fees double after March 31st. Proof of rabies vaccination is required to register.

Q: What to do if I am experiencing low water pressure?

A: Check your meter and the surrounding area for possible leaks. Next, call our office and report low pressure for your area.

Q: Why is my water discolored?

A:

  1. A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the water to discolor.
  2. The Fire Department could be testing hydrants to cause the discolor. *Run your water until color is back to normal, if this does not work call City Hall*

Q: Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?

A: We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.
